A new girl rises above the sea of blondes and blue eyes and she’s the girl who won it from everyone for placing first in the End of Summer Swimsuit Shoot Off 2011!  This was Leonie Damberg’s first major modeling competition we will give her credit for that. Those long silky legs sure went a long way for her and it was definitely worth it.

“Confidence and you need to be able to trust yourself”, was the answer Damberg gave when asked as to how she thought she won. Definitely her advice paid off as she came out from the wilderness, conquered the competition in perfect hair, great physique and an overwhelming good personality – all that without even batting a lash.

Damberg loves to laugh and they say that laughter is the best kind of medicine. No wonder her friends adore her since she gives off this warm, sunny and vivacious personality – and that’s something you rarely find genuinely in the modeling world.

We here at Trend Spike are definitely proud to see her on the cover of Venus Says magazine! Keep on going to the “top” Leonie, that’s the only direction everyone should be heading to.

When we picked our 20 beautiful finalists for this month’s Venus Says Cover Girl Search, we already knew that it was going to be a tight competition.

Out of 20, only one is named the Face of Venus.  Michelle Nicole Waters, a 5’5” tall stunner from Honolulu, Hawaii, now holds the title as the Face of Venus and will be featured on the cover of Venus Says Magazine this September. We sure want to see more of this beaut who happens to have that iconic pout of Angelina Jolie and that killer physique of Nicole Scherzinger –and as if that’s not hot enough, we saw a photo of her all dressed up in a military uniform. Yes, she worked for the United States Air Force  –femme fatale! Michelle Nicole Waters is definitely one tough chick that’s hard to beat!

ON THE COVER: Danielle Gilman, Worcester, Massachusetts

This month’s cover girl is Danielle Gilman. A 23-year-old redhead beauty from Worcester, Massachusetts. She feels very comfortable in front of the camera and enjoys doing shoots with diverse themes. Knowing that there are only about 2% natural redheads in the world’s population, Gilman’s distinctive red locks have always added a captivating spark on each of her photos.

“My dad is half Russian and half Eastern European, I think that’s where my looks came from,” says Gilman. “I think the red hair is my thing, it brings a certain level of sexiness and mystery to all of my shoots,” she added.

Trend Spike has managed to throw in a few questions to this month’s Headline Girl of the Month and Venus Says Magazine’s cover girl.  Here’s what our redhead goddess has to say…

How does it feel to make it on the top spot on your first try?

Awesome! I’m honored to have so many people support me and vote for me to be part of something amazing like this.

What type of photoshoot do you enjoy doing the most?

I love doing more high fashion shoots, crazy makeup and hair, I love creating images that look like they could be a page in Vogue.

Tell us about Danielle Gilman when off the camera?

Off the camera I am a single mother to a beautiful little boy. I also am a professionally trained dancer. When not modeling, you can find me doing ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical or modern. I also double major in college which takes up most of my time!

How does it feel to be named the Headline Girl of the Month and own Venus Says magazine’s new year cover?

It feels GREAT! I could not have done it without the support of my family, friends and wonderful fans! I thank all of them because they made this happen! I am very honored and blessed to have so many people that stand behind me and my work.

What do you think was your edge against the other models in this competition?

I think it’s my outgoing personality, my ability to network and my willingness to work, all combined into a package that is hard to beat !

What type of photo shoot do you enjoy doing the most?

I enjoy all types of photo shoots but my favorites are lingerie and anything that has to do with cars and motorcycles…

How do you maintain your figure?

I try to eat right and work out –also having a 2 year old little boy helps a lot too! *laughs*

Can you share your New Year’s resolution to us?

Not sure if I would say it is my New Year’s Resolution but I just believe this is gonna be my year, I have had so many positive things happening and I am meeting so many new people, my cup is running over. I just want  to strive to be the best I can in everything I do, not just my modeling but “life” in general. I have a positive attitude toward this year and I think it will be a fabulous one or at least I am going to do everything I can to make it FABULOUS!

Any favorite vacation spot(s)?

Yes, I love the beach and I love Florida.  So this summer, my crew just may be taking a road trip.

As a newcomer on Trend Spike, how does it feel to own the top spot?

While I am humble with my achievements, it does feel awesome to have this opportunity and win the first time around.

You have almost backed out when we informed you that you were one of our finalists. If you did back out, would have regretted that decision?

Absolutely! Although there was a bit of “model drama” with one of the girls, I decided to not let it get to me and go for it, but yes, had I backed out I would have completely regretted it.

How confident were you about winning this contest?

I was pretty confident because I have such a strong support system from my family, friends and FANS!  I am lucky to have such wonderful fans who have been supporting me since day one.

How do you think did you charm the people to place their votes on you? Was it your looks? Or unique inner qualities perhaps?

I think it’s a little of both.  I am very opinionated and most of my fans know that about me.  Moreover, it doesn’t hurt to be nice. I respond to all of my fan’s emails and snail mail.  I want my fans to take interest in me not just based on my looks but also based on my personality.

But what do you think is your best physical asset?

Definitely my smile! I take very good care of myself especially my teeth! Moreover, I embrace my curvaceous body and think curves are sexy.  Most women can relate to a body like mine rather than a model that is emaciated.

Which modeling project(s) have you enjoyed doing (the most) so far?

Honestly? I don’t have a favourite. All of my modelling projects have been awesome! The best part about my job is that I get to travel and meet new people.

Has “Playboy” ever occurred in mind?

Yes, I have thought about posing but my decision is 50-50.  My family would not approve, and although I am old enough to make my own decisions, I do respect my family and their opinions.  However, I think Playboy is an amazing opportunity for women.  Hugh Hefner and his company have contributed so much to the society while maintaining, to this day, the classy and refined 1953 Playboy vision despite their newer, more risqué, competitors.  Who knows? Playboy has had plenty of foreign playmates but never an Israeli playmate!

Fun little fact: Yael used to work at the Playboy mansion as a food server.

Knowing that there were many established models (from all over the world) who competed in this search, how does it feel to be named the first ever Trend Spike Headline Girl of the Month grand winner?

I feel like it’s such an honor to not only be a Trend Spike Headline Girl, but to be the first one, makes it that much more exciting!  It’s very rewarding to be recognized by the voters out there who took the time out of their day to participate. I’ve been loving every minute of this contest.

Filipina beauty is indeed exotic. Tell us about your best physical feature.

I’d like to think my best feature are my legs! I just love how tall they make me look. I’ve also always liked my lips and eyes.

How long have you been in LV?

I have been living in Las Vegas for the past ten years now. It’s been an amazing place to live. I love living in a place that is constantly on the go 24/7.  There is never a dull moment living here, there is always something to do. I’ve also been very fortunate to meet some wonderful people here in Las Vegas, both in my professional and personal life. I can’t even begin to imagine living anywhere else anymore. 2011 Calendar

Reality star Kim Kardashian is once again preparing for a bikini clad calendar for 2011. She posted a photo teaser on her twitter page obviously telling the whole world it’s gonna be another hot year. She can hardly be recognized with lighter hair and bronze skin. But all that booty tells us it’s definitely her. This is not a surprise as Kim has already done great bikini clad calendar shoots in 2009 and 2010 which is one of the reasons why she made it to People Magazine’s Top 10 Best Dressed (Best Bikini). If it may be remembered she once posed for a sexy calendar which was intended to be given as a birthday present to her then boyfriend Reggie Bush, but her mom mistook it for something else and made copies of the calendar to sell to magazine stands. For sure Kim’s 2011 calendar will not only hit the stands but will also run out in no time.

Winner of the first “America’s Next Top Model” Adrianne Curry gave her Twitter followers (and everyone else) a real Tweet. On Friday, June 25, she tweeted a pic of her in a shower with nothing on but suds (and not too much suds either).

Apparently, the 27-year-old model previously tweeted , “Gonna peal [sic] off these sweaty ass clothes and take a much deserved long shower…got some new body wash, cant wait to lather up! twitpic? Lol.”

Not the first time Adrianne Curry has indulged her Twitter friends with her bareness. In March she posted a pic of her wearing nothing but a pair of suspenders. She posted this message along with the pic: “Gratuitous boob pic, cause boobs just look so much bigger when smashed down by Alex DeLarge Suspenders.” Again, in December, 2009 she tweeted a pic of her and her naked butt on her bed and wrote, “Me…naked…playing World Of Warcraft ; ).”

The Miss USA 2010 has a new vibe. Pageant owner Donald Trump has decided to move toward an edgier and decidedly sexier new look, if the promotional photos of the 51 contestants are any indication.

The irony is that some of these new photos appear to be racier than the ones that got Miss USA California winner Carrie Prejean ousted last year.

One day after being crowned, a new photo has emerged showing the new Miss USA in a Stip Tease Pole Dancing Contest. In 2007, newly-crowned Miss USA Rima Fakih participated in a pole dancing contest thrown by “Mojo in the Morning,” a nationally-syndicated morning radio show out of Detroit. During the annual event, called “Stripper 101,” real-life strippers teach female participants the art of the striptease and pole dancing. At the end of the class, a contest is held among the new students and, in 2007, Fakih was the grand prize winner, reports “Mojo in the Morning.” The station says this photo has been on its website for three years. The pageant offered the following statement: “We are in the business of beauty, and the contestants who compete for the title of Miss USA are not afraid to be sexy. These ladies are the full package — smart, accomplished, relevant and sexy!”

The preliminary competition will be held at Planet Hollywood in Vegas on Wednesday, May 12, 2010. The official competition was be aired on Sunday, May 16th on NBC beginning at 7 p.m. ET.

Miss USA 2009 Kristin Dalton will give up her crown.

Fun facts: Miss Texas has won 9 times in the pageant’s history, followed by Miss California with 5 wins. Miss New York, Miss Hawaii and Miss Illinois have each won 4 times. Miss USA has been held annually since 1952. Twenty states have never had a Miss USA winner.

I’m a big fan of Pete and truly believe he belongs in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Hell… I’m from Philly and I certainly remember the key players who have delivered us our precious few professional sports championships, but sorry Pete, this isn’t about you.

In case you are not familiar with Kiana, she was born in Seoul, Korea and moved out to the United States with her family when she was 5. She was raised in Los Angeles and went to school at Arizona State University. Soon after graduating, she worked for Korean Airlines as a flight attendant.

Kiana will be featured in the Playboy April edition in the feature “Sexy 100 of 2009.” To be honest, Kiana probably didn’t warrant an appearance to promote the spread by herself, but with Charlie Hustle accompanying her, it was a no-brainer appearance.

Here’s a few examples of how Pete Rose still keeps hitting big, even while he’s pushing 70.
